Rooney, who netted the Reds' first and third goals in the 4-4 draw against Everton, attracted 40 per cent of the fans' vote.
United's other two scorers - Danny Welbeck and Nani - also proved popular in the poll but it was Rooney who scooped the online award.
Rooney has now bagged 33 goals in all competitions this season, including 12 in his last 11 appearances.
Despite his impressive return, however, he's admitted recently he's not happy with his form and is continually striving to improve.
